An Expression of

God's Love for the world

We are passionate about showing you who Jesus is. Whether it is in our own neighborhood or across the globe, we can tangibly express God’s love for humanity through our outreach projects and mission trips. Join us as we extend our mission beyond our walls and share the love of Jesus in our local and global community.

We also feel it is important for our members to take their faith outside our church walls and to make an impact for Jesus Christ, not only in our community but around the world. God has called our church to serve those in need around the world through Lutheran World Relief, Operation Christmas Child, and Mission:India.

Serving Locally

Our Open Arms/Immanuel family serves the children of Glenview by joining our local Rotary and providing backpacks of school supplies during August.   Each year we collect disposable diapers during our Mother's Day Diaper Drive.  These diapers are given to women staying in local domestic violence shelters.

Love around the world

We choose to serve our brothers and sisters around the world in several ways.   During the summer months we have packing parties to create personal care kits for those who have been displaced by natural disasters and war.  Along with quilts made by the women of the congregation, these kits are distributed by Lutheran World Relief.

During October and November, all are invited to participate in the Operation Christmas Child drive.   Shoeboxes are filled with items that children would enjoy.  These are sent around the world.

Mission:India is an organization that promotes literacy in India.  Our congregation supports the training of these literacy teachers.
