Families

Families are the heart of what we do here at Immanuel. We believe that parents are the first and best teachers of faith to their children. It is our job as the community of Immanuel to support and encourage faith within the home. All our families are important to us no matter what size, shape or age.

Some of the ways we encourage families are through Messy Church Nights, Grill Nights and service events.

Our Open Arms Christian Child Development Center serves families during the first six weeks to six years of life by providing full-time childcare. To learn more, visit http://OpenArmsGlenview.org.  You may also want to check out

Children

Our children's ministry is here to support parents in the role of creating a foundation of faith with their children. We are blessed to have dedicated adults who give their time to love and teach our children.

Here at Immanuel, we offer:

  • Sunday School at 9:45 AM. We meet as a group in the Youth Room (to the left at the bottom of the stairs at the glass door entry) before dividing into small groups by age.
  • Children's message is part of every worship service. The children receive a special "Children's Worship Bulletin" to reinforce the message with age-appropriate puzzles and games.
  • Confirmation classes for our youth beginning in 5th grade. We ask parents to attend the class with the students so that the conversations can be continued in the home.

Youth

Immanuel encourages our youth to continue to explore and grow in faith through participation in our youth group. Each Sunday there is a youth Bible Class for our confirmed youth. This class meets in the library, which is upstairs and at the end of the hall. The youth join in a monthly activity together . . . check the calendar for this month's event.

Adults

Adults need a place to grow in their faith too.   We offer opportunities for support and fellowship in both large and small groups.   There are opportunities to form relationships in Bible studies, service activities, and social events.   Our aim is to equip our adults to be the leaders God has called them to be.

Currently we have several opportunities for Adult Study, including a Hybrid (In-Person and on ZOOM) group that meets during the Sunday School hour at 9:45 am in the Library.  See the page for Online Bible Studies for more info.
