133 Years...Try to imagine what it was like living in 1876. Glenview was virtually non-existent...No paved roads...No electricity...No stores...No churches...Nothing except small farms developing to the north of downtown Chicago...Ulysses S. Grant was President of the United States. 1876 was the year farmers in the area decided they would break ground for a church, school and parsonage. The "Horse Power" was provided by teams of horses as the farmers gathered the materials, dug the basement and built their church...Very determined, they completed all three buildings that same year. Today, Immanuel proudly stands as a reflection upon the many generations of families who have enriched their lives as part of our church family. Again, we welcome you to our web site. A highlight of the site is a pictorial view of our beautiful stained glass windows as part of each page's heading.
